A lovely holiday weekend is planned.

I am back in blog land for the moment. My hubby said he has been really missing our blog. So much going on in our life but we have no record of it. It has been months since we have had a weekend where we didn't have something going on on a Saturday. I'm thinking maybe it was in October of last year. Today was wonderfully free to relax and enjoy our home.
Every year we have religious holidays that I struggle with. Holidays that are of religious orgin that are legal holidays and big celebrations. Many of the traditions are wrapped around ancient pagen traditions that if it wasn't for google, we wouldn't even know those orgins. I celebrate Christ's birth, death and resurrection each day of my life, and wonder how Santa Clause and the Easter bunny got all wrapped up in that. Traditionally, don't celebrate these holidays the way others do and yet there crafts that we don't get to do other times of the year. Today the children and I dyed some eggs for the first time. The girls thought it was a great time and Drew even blew out a few eggs for Mom to color. Most of the eggs will end up as deviled eggs so I had to take a few pics so the girls record of the day we dyed eggs.

So glad you had a fun Saturday for a change!
My grandma used to let the older kids dye eggs for fun for a couple weeks before & after Easter both. We've done it a couple times--this year we didn't dye any, but we did have a candy egg hunt for the little kids. Not an every year thing either.

What a pretty basketfull!
We've never done that & the kids haven't questioned it. :) I'm sure they would have enjoyed it though!

Julie, I think we did it one other time in the 28 years that we've had kids. It is not a yearly occurrence by any means. :) The kids do have a good time at it.

Bob Chapmans influential International Forecaster is reporting on the possibility of a so-called bank holiday planned for late August or early September. According to Chapmans sources, U.S. embassies around the world are selling dollars and stockpiling money from respective countries where they operate.
