Summer vacation has arrived!!!

Summer vacation arrived with a flurry of activity this year. Blaise graduated high school so we started with a graduation party at our house. It included most of my family, as it was a joint celebration with my niece Jacqui, who also graduated. That was on May 31st, followed by the ceremony on June 1st. His graduation ceremony was the best I have ever attended with brief, interesting speeches, awesome music and 440 diplomas handed out in 1 hour and 30 minutes
June 2nd, we left for a vacation to a Nebraska convention
returning on the 10th via Mount Rushmore, SD. We took a 13 year old from town, Rebecca Halfacre, along and it was a trip of a lifetime for her. Because of her circumstances, she has hardly be able to leave town, much less see the Mississippi River. It was really fun to share all the wonderful places we visited before with her. It make us appreciate it all again. And for the big news, Summer made her choice on Sat. evening along with two children of my blogging friend,Maxine and 9 others.

I didn't realize Summer made her choice Saturday night, I couldn't see her from where I was sitting...that's awesome! It was also great to get to talk for a bit Sunday morning...thanks!

Wow, you really did do some blogging catch-up!!
I am so horrible at taking any "just snaps" pictures at convention. I have so few over all the years other than our "posed" family groups!
I see you've been keeping up with all our conversation/barbs & laughs flying back & forth...what a hoot! Anyone who doesn't know us that's reading these probably things we're wacko!! Oh...wait a minute...guess we probably are :*)

HAHA Diane, I have a great story about one of your boys! Of course, I dont' know his name, but its the one on the left in the Carhenge picture! Hmm...maybe I'll have to e-mail you about it! When it happened I didn't realize he was yours, although I did figure it out later!

Really nice to see the pix that included your mom. She's looking happy and healthy!

Glad to hear about Summer! Take care and have a good summer. I'll only be online (except with my mobile device) sporadically the next 5 weeks.
